Winsol wins R+T Innovation Award with new SolarFuse shutters

R+T became the international premiere of Winsol's new SolarFuse shutters. We received rave reviews for these products. Also from the jury of the R+T Innovation Award, which declared these products the winners of the award for 2024.

Benefits of shutters and screens in one

Fusion and SolarFuse (solar powered version) combine all the advantages of shutters and screens in one product. This is due to the only 15 mm high slats of the shutters with microperforations running between them across the entire width. Thanks to these microperforations, up to 4 times more daylight enters the home than compared to roller shutters with classic slats when the shutter is placed in the daylight position.  

But the benefits of screens were also included in this story. For example, the view outside is maintained at all times while ensuring privacy inside. And as with screens, the micro-perforations improve ventilation and aeration of the home while keeping insects out.

We should not forget the advantages of traditional shutters. Fusion and SolarFuse can also be used to completely darken a room, for which the slats close completely just like traditional slats. In addition, they keep the house nice and fresh in the summer and nice and warm during the winter. And last but not least, they are burglar retardant and soundproof.

Solar powered variant

The major difference between Fusion and SolarFuse lies in how they work. Fusion shutters operate on electricity (230 V connection), while SolarFuse uses free solar energy. This happens thanks to the two solar panels discreetly embedded in the box. SolarFuse therefore needs no electrical connection or cables to function. And that means: no cutting and breaking when installing it. Thanks to the powerful 4 Ah battery (double the capacity compared to current market offerings) with extra large storage capacity, the shutters always work, even when there is no sun or less sun.

The finishing options for SolarFuse are the same as for our SolarBox shutters and SolarFix screens:

• Standard symmetrical: one solar panel on the left and one on the right in the cabinet
• Standard asymmetrical: both solar panels on the left or right in the cabinet
• Black Belt: the underside of the profile is the same color as the panels, creating a black belt. As a result, you hardly notice the solar panels.
• Color: subtle printing of the solar panels in the same color as the cabinet

Second R+T Innovation Award in three years

For Winsol, this R+T Innovation Award is the second in three years. Indeed, in 2021 we won this award for our SolarBox solar-powered shutters. Together with our 5 Red Dot Design Awards, we see our efforts in innovation nicely rewarded.
