"When it comes to roller shutters, ROMA sets the standard in Europe," says Toon van Osta of ROMA Benelux confidently. "Our program is never complete, as innovations are introduced every month. The big innovation with the ROMA .P shutters is the suppersmall guide of 34 mm for a narrow entry and 42 mm for a normal entry. The depth of both slides is 22 mm. We can work with these narrow guides because we also have side covers with narrow case legs. For the ROMA dealers of the first hour we also had this variant for the RONDO.2. This shutter can only be supplied with motor control.
It was previously reported in Z&R that ROMA has adjusted its cabinet sizes. ROMA has made it "a clear story," Van Osta said. "When ROMA started 42 years ago, there was already a major manufacturer operating that had defined certain cabinet sizes. To be compatible, those sizes and corresponding designations were adopted. Problem: they were illogical!" Therefore, last year, ROMA began to adapt all cabinet sizes, plus the names associated with them. To give an example, the cabinet 165 will now be a cabinet 170 and will therefore be exactly 170 x 170 mm! "For our customers, but certainly for architects and anyone who wants to do building preparations, nothing is more convenient, than that a 170 cabinet is really 170 x 170 mm." The deliverable range for the Rondo.P/XP, Pento.P/XP and Quardo.P/XP cabinets will be: 110-130-140-160-170-190-210 mm. However, cabinets with the smallest or largest sizes may be missing from a range because they - almost - never occur. By the way, this program is not yet complete, because, according to Van Osta, innovations are made every month.
"Also new is that a rolled version of the Quadro cabinet is now also available," Van Osta concludes. "All three cabinet shapes come standard with a backplate, but can also be supplied without one. This option was previously only available with Rondo. Of course, under-revision on the Pento and Quadro cabinets is only available on the extruded version."
ROMA moves to matte. The trend to matte will follow and continue in the roller shutter product category as well.
