With custom horizontal blinds, it all began for Luxaflex® more than 80 years ago. Over the years, of course, this product has innovated and improved. Consider, for example, the bounce-back quality - allowing the slats to retain their original shape - and the use of up to 80% recycled aluminum, resulting in a durable and high-quality product. Interior designer Richelle den Hartog of Luxaflex® talks about the many possibilities of this collection.
Besides being functional, Luxaflex® horizontal blinds are hugely decorative, explains Den Hartog, "From soft pastel shades to glamorous metallics and from classic black and white to natural tones - our varied new collection offers a perfect match for any interior style. Our horizontal blinds are now available in a whole range of new colors, but in addition the collection now includes more blinds with exclusive textured prints such as Eternity and Liberty. The textured Eternity is also in our Duette® Shades collection, allowing you to beautifully combine both types of window decoration in the same or multiple rooms."
Den Hartog continues: "On Google, through our social channels, website and dealers, the most frequently asked question about our horizontal blinds is: 'How can I clean them?' It has therefore been very important for us to offer a solution for this that makes everyday life easier. With our new coating CleanPlus, stains can be removed effortlessly. It is a special paint that allows dirt to come off better and thus simplifies the periodic maintenance of the blinds."
Luxaflex® Horizontal blinds are operated by a cord and a rocker bar as standard. Den Hartog: "This is simple and user-friendly, but again, the eye wants something too. The cord is finished with tassels in a beautiful new aluminum design, available in white, cream, gray, brown or black, matching the color of the slat. With the tilt rod you tilt the slats to a certain angle. This too has received a modern aluminum update. So your Luxaflex® Venetian blinds have that extra finishing touch for a modern and chic look. Of course, you can also choose PowerView® Automation, Luxaflex®'s convenient motorized control system."
One of the trends when it comes to window coverings continues to be combining window coverings with curtains, also called "Layering," according to Den Hartig. "Horizontal blinds and curtains go great together. With the blinds, you can very precisely control the incidence of light and your privacy. The soft curtains contrast with the hard material of the blinds, providing that extra layer of atmosphere, warmth and coziness. They also improve acoustics, allow you to darken a room and provide a luxurious look as well as extra insulation. In addition, 'hard' contact sounds are dampened, which increases living comfort."
