What began in 2001 as a small, specialist company in pleated fabrics has grown into a global supplier of sustainable window decoration fabrics with over 70 employees. "A continuous focus on quality, personal contact and the passion for textiles makes us unique," said Bennie Lienesch. "Despite the increased size, the personal dedication it all started with is still tangible in everything."
Whereas the focus for the first ten years was mainly on the development of pleated fabrics, today Lienesch applies its expertise to a much wider range of window decoration fabrics: decorative, durable fabrics for both the residential and project markets. All activities are coordinated from the head office in Haaksbergen, which also houses a production department, a quality department and the warehouse. Recently, the storage capacity in Haaksbergen was expanded by 2000 m2 to continue to meet the growing demand for mainly honeycomb and pleated fabrics.
The sales share of sustainable fabrics is rising steadily. "We think one reason for this is that fabrics, made from, for example, recycled polyester, are qualitatively and decoratively inferior to traditionally produced window covering fabrics," says Bennie Lienesch. Lienesch has adopted United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12. This goal is about sustainable consumption and production, so it's all about doing more and better with less. This is exactly what Lienesch has in mind with the True® label for sustainable fabrics. "Responsible production means that goods and services are produced ethically, minimizing raw materials, waste and pollution. Without getting stuffy or woolly of course, because of course we remain down-to-earth Twente people!"
"Window decoration fabrics bearing the True® label are sustainable fabrics, made with honest, traceable materials and fair manufacturing processes," Bennie Lienesch explains. "In addition, they are usually made from post-consumer recycled polyester." That means they are made from plastic containers and bottles, which were discarded by consumers and collected again and then processed into new yarns. Committing to sustainable, recycled window coverings fabrics is a positive development for both consumers and the environment. It reduces the impact on the ecosystem, promotes a circular economy and adds aesthetic value to interiors. "By consciously choosing sustainable window coverings fabrics, we can all contribute to a greener future without compromising on style and quality," concludes Bennie Lienesch.
