"There was a storm on the first day!" says Sunconfex Group marketing coordinator Emelien Kestelyn excitedly. Although the market for sun protection products in general has cooled down after the corona period, the specialist in custom sun protection fabrics (on rolls as Solaye Fabrics) has suffered little from this, according to Kestelyn.
In recent years, the company has focused heavily on sustainability, including reducing waste as much as possible. "We also wish to reuse our residual waste. This has led to the creation of new soap pouches made from cutting waste. They are useful and a nice business gift. We have also included our first PVC-free cloth in our Solaye Fabrics range. It is available in both roll and custom sizes."
At R+T, the Sunconfex Group focused on three fabrics: the PVC-free Purolux, Sunshadow RR 2% ALU with an aluminum coating on the reverse side for even better indoor climate control, and finally, from the Solaye Fabrics range, the Chameleon. This fabric changes color-brightness, depending on the amount of sunlight, and in strong sunlight has the light and see-through comfort of a black fabric. "We want to make our customers aware of a changing world, to which we want to contribute in a positive way with pleasant and energy-efficient sun protection with the smallest possible footprint."
