ALUKON completes new construction

After five years of construction, ALUKON has successfully completed the expansion of its headquarters in Konradsreuth (Upper Franconia, Germany). Earlier, a magnificent factory in Haigerloch (Baden-Württemberg) was completed. Both locations now have state-of-the-art production facilities and logistics areas. However, that is not all the innovation! 

Following the construction work, the surface area of the company location in Konradsreuth has been increased by as much as 50 percent. This additional space has been furnished with fine benefits for ALUKON's nearly 400 employees. Think state-of-the-art production facilities and brand new factory equipment. But there is more: the conversion allows some products, such as exterior blinds, to be produced entirely by ALUKON itself. 

Innovative outdoor blind system

ALUKON also launched a new product on the market at the beginning of this year. That is the outdoor blind LS Dark with side light protection. This system creates new possibilities in the planning and realization of shading solutions because it offers optimal shading and efficient light control to allow exactly the desired amount of daylight into an interior space. 

The outdoor blind system LS Dark is based on a further development of ALUKON's light guide slat LS 80. It is a specially designed slat with a predefined slat position of 20 degrees for optimal light transmission. The LS 80 slat allows optimal light use, at any time of day, all year round, while maintaining transparency to the outside and at the same time without causing glare. 

ALUKON combines the light guiding slat LS 80 with the new outdoor blind system LS Dark, making it possible to provide optimal darkening of a room. The up and down movement of the blind is via a special elevator mechanism integrated in the guide rails of the external blind. The usual texband is missing and so are the texband holes, which means that when closed, much less daylight enters the room. To reduce light penetration at the sides, special brush inserts are integrated into the guide rails. Aluminum cover plates complete the blackout system. 

The interplay of these components ensures effective blackout and makes the LS Dark universally usable, but especially so for bedrooms. The LS Dark is available in all RAL colors and with ten different slat colors, depending on structural and design requirements.

Easy planning and installation

The latest innovation in ALUKON's range is the further development of the ZipTex screen system. Thanks to ALUKON's improvements, planning and installation is now even more flexible and time-saving. Practical variants with integrated glass fall protection and cable guidance provide the optimal sun protection solution: whether for new construction or the renovation and/or modernization of old buildings. 

The ZipTex screen system is installed in front of the window and provides optimum sun protection without obstructing the view outside. Especially with large glass surfaces, this durable and low-maintenance system prevents the rooms behind from heating up unnecessarily. Thanks to the zipper guide, the system offers good stability for sizes up to 6 x 3 m. Even under high wind loads, ZipTex systems ensure that the awning always functions and can be used.

In optimizing ZipTex, the main focus was on ease of installation. The new one-piece guide rail with snap-in plastic inner guide saves considerable time during installation. The separate, over-plasterable guide rails make the system suitable for installation with both left- and right-handed fabric rollers. The new ZipTex enables optically attractive shading solutions. 

Fall Protection

ALUKON's ZipTex system is now even easier to use in combination with a glass fall protection for French balconies. The fall protection is integrated directly into the guide rails of the ZipTex system. When closed, it disappears behind the screen fabric. This creates a beautiful appearance from the outside. The version with fall protection can be combined with all ZipTex screen fabrics.
