Before you know it, a year flies by. Especially for Deponti. The company, which specializes in terrace coverings and outdoor living products, has been able to establish itself as a major player in this field for years. Together with Pieter Coupillie, sales manager for France and Belgium, and Marco de Jong, sales manager for the Netherlands, we look back and forward. "A highlight this year - and I speak for all of Deponti - was being declared FD Gazelles International 2024," De Jong quips. At the utterance of that sentence, a smile appears on Coupillie's face. "Now that you mention it, it's not so much about that award an sich, though it marks the focus on our international growth. And with that, it constitutes a confirmation that we are on the right track."
Last year, for example, Deponti opened a new office in Artern, Germany. In addition, operations in the United Kingdom continue to expand. And the company is also making strides in Wallonia and Luxembourg. De Jong: "The move into Germany means a strengthening of our position in that market and an opening for further European growth. Coupillie adds: "For Wallonia and Luxembourg, we appointed account managers and have received the first dealers and orders. We are also working with a French-speaking inside sales representative for this region. This allows us to serve the customers in these regions even better."
Despite Deponti's international focus, it also remains focused on the Netherlands. De Jong explains, "International growth often raises the question of whether this is at the expense of the 'country of origin'. We are very proud that we have succeeded in combining international and national growth. In the Netherlands, for example, we invest in retaining and strengthening our stable team, both in the office and in the field. This allows us to establish new relationships and deepen relationships with existing customers." How is it that we manage to maintain this balance? Pieter: "I think we manage to stay true to three core Deponti principles: creating a family feeling for colleagues: everyone belongs and we work on a clear mission: together offering the best in the home for end consumers. In addition, innovation is fully in our DNA. Not to mention, we think in terms of possibilities."
Innovation takes shape for Deponti with a dedicated innovation team. Every day Deponti works to broaden and deepen its product range. "This year we introduced a number of new products" says De Jong. "Think of the expansion of our Pinela line with 2 new models, but also with our Louvres (fixed and pivoting), new height dimensions for the benefit of the sliding glass walls and a roof drainage finish. Our innovation team is, and will continue to be, in full swing.
"We keep raising the bar. And listen carefully to the desires of end consumers," Coupillie adds. "The development of a 7-track for the Deponti Fiano sliding glass walls, multifunctional uprights and a new gutter, are good examples of this."
The Pinela line, one of Deponti's most beloved product series, continued to expand. De Jong explains, "In addition to the existing Pinela and Pinela Deluxe, we introduced the Pinela Deluxe Plus and Pinela Glass. In addition, we are in the final stages of developing the Trebbiano. With this expansion, we offer our customers even more choice and flexibility." Coupillie: "And as people have come to expect from us, these models are available directly from stock." This shows Deponti's ability to respond quickly to market needs.
Reflecting on the past year with De Jong and Coupillie offers immediate foreshadowing for 2025. Coupillie: "The beauty of working at Deponti is that we dare to think in limitless possibilities. At the same time, we stay close to the origins." De Jong nods in agreement: "We keep moving and listening to the market. This is how we develop products that enable end consumers to get everything out of their nearby outdoor lives. We look forward to continuing to grow together with our partners in 2025. From a strong focus on innovation, cooperation and flexibility." Coupillie concludes, "We are energetically continuing on the path we have taken. And we are looking forward to what 2025 has in store!"
