It's been almost four years since Rainbowsol won the Z&R Product of the Year Award for their concept Q-series. How is this line doing now? And was the award deserved? Robert Bosch, responsible for sales at Rainbowsol has to laugh. "Of course it was justified that we won the Award then!" Then seriously: "I can substantiate it, because the Q-series is simply doing well in the market."
For those who missed it at the time, a brief refresh of memory. In July 2019, Rainbowsol presented the Q-series at a large party in Leerdam, shortly after Rainbowsol won the 2019 Z&R Product of the Year Award for this concept. The Q-series includes the two-tube Q-230 articulated screen, the Q-240 self-supporting articulated screen, the Q-105 drop-down screen and the Q-100 zipscreen. "All come in Limited Edition colors and can also be personalized with attractive inlays," Bosch explains. "Furthermore, the LED lighting in the two articulated screens is elegantly integrated." The entire line is equipped with Somfy io motors. The drop-down screen and the zipscreen are optionally available with solar.
Overall, the Q series is best described as "sleek and modern," Bosch believes. "Moreover, the line fits well with contemporary tastes as well as modern architecture, but can certainly also be combined with classic building styles. After the introduction of the Q-series, we naturally had to wait and see if the concept would catch on. After all, we cannot predict the future either. Of course we had a good feeling about it and of course we develop our products with a well thought-out vision. Then it is nice to see that interest in the Q-series has grown in recent years. Initially we deliberately chose a low profile approach, because you also want to discover possible teething problems in the products. But fortunately there were none, zero-come-zero! It was only last year that we included the Q-line in our catalog as standard, and this year we are going public with it more. In other words, the wonderful Q series is now going to get the attention it deserves!"
According to Bosch, the market sees the mutual cohesion of the various Q-series products. "The conscious consumer does not want a mishmash on his facade. These products all have the same style. If you have had an articulated screen mounted and at another place on your facade you want a zipscreen, it is important from an aesthetic point of view that this can be done in one style."
Asked exactly who is interested in the Q line, the answer is clear. "Call it the fashion- and trend-conscious consumer. You see the series mainly in the well-known new construction areas. You also see that black, anthracite and gray have been the colors of choice in interiors for a while now. This line fits in beautifully with that for outdoors."
Bosch and his colleagues also receive useful and good feedback from Rainbowsol dealers. "You notice the enthusiasm of those who display the Q-series in the showroom," he says. And then laughs, "So yes, as far as we are concerned, it was totally justified that we won the 2019 Z&R Product of the Year Award!"
