Machine builder keeps good feeling from trade show participation

Throughout the year, machine representatives visit existing and potential customers to present their new systems and optimizations. It is therefore a special experience when those relations visit on the occasion of an open house or a trade fair themselves. At Polyclose, the elumatec team met many familiar faces, but also made contact with numerous new potential customers. The world market leader in the production of machines for processing aluminum, plastic and steel profiles therefore once again presented a number of striking innovations.

For elumatec, Polyclose fits in perfectly with trade fairs such as Bau München, Fensterbau Nürnberg and Batimat Paris. The machine builder gets a lot of visitors from the Benelux to the stand there every time. "Also at this edition of Polyclose many Dutch customers signed present. After all, for a lot of our relations it is an ideal showcase for the latest technologies and systems," states Bas Ladestein, managing director of elumatec Benelux BV. "The trend towards automation of production and business processes is continuing, also with window and door manufacturers, facade builders and sun protection companies. We are cleverly capitalizing on this with our new applications and products, from large to small and for all segments. At the Polyclose, the 4-axis profile machining machine SBZ 141 and the complete SBZ 628 XXL machining unit with rotary machining ring and equipped with two sawing units attracted a lot of attention, but the revolutionary SBZ 122/73 machining center was also well received."

Profile machining centers and complete machining aggregate

With the SBZ 141, elumatec presented a 4-axis profile machining center for the economical and efficient machining of aluminum and thin-walled steel profiles. All operations, such as milling, drilling and tapping, are done on a stationary clamped profile and that steplessly between -90° and +90° with any available tool. The travelling tool magazine with space for eight tools ensures shorter changeover times and optimum machining cycles. For double profile clamping and end machining, this machine optionally includes a rotatable right-angle milling head with two different tools (0° - 90° - 180° - 270°). "Also with the revolutionary 4-axis profile machining center SBZ 122/73, all machining is done on a stationary clamped profile. This machine includes a steplessly positionable A-axis from -120° to +120° and the machining unit can be positioned at speeds of up to 120 m/min. thanks to its dynamic servo drives," adds the managing director. "Finally, the SBZ 628 XXL machining unit offers maximum flexibility for machining and cutting aluminum profiles. This pass-through machine includes up to eight spindles for milling or drilling and offers various cutting options from 22.5° to 157.5° (swivel), complemented by a sawing aggregate from 45° to 135° (incline). Depending on the profile cross section, five to ten profiles with a length of 1500 to 7600 mm can be laid on this system. This aggregate was demonstrated live at the fair in a cabin enclosed by Plexiglas. In addition, all machines are "eluCloud Ready," which opens doors to Industry 4.0 and the Smart Factory."

Elumatec looks back on the past edition of Polyclose with a good feeling. "This event is increasingly growing into a relationship fair, with everyone pulling out all the stops to get customers to their stands with, among other things, belated New Year's receptions, stand parties and even events outside the fair building," concludes
