French manufacturer Soprofen has been a major player in shutters and blinds for 40 years. Since 2007, it has added an attractive component: the design and production of garage doors. An activity that continues to grow domestically as well as in Belgium and the Netherlands. The credo is always the same: a brilliant combination of technical expertise, quality and ease of installation with the durability of products designed and manufactured in-house.

Year in and year out, specialist Soprofen produces some 15,000 garage doors. Unlike other players that act as assemblers, Soprofen is both designer and manufacturer of its garage doors. Its R&D department therefore pays particular attention to the technical and aesthetic characteristics of its products. Valérie Denny Galtier, Garage Doors Product Manager, tells us, "The garage is a space that is no longer just used to park a vehicle. It is often used as a storage space, DIY workshop or laundry room. That's why we try to make sure the design is as compact as possible, to leave maximum space in the opening both in height and width."

An answer to every need

The French specialist offers four types of garage doors: the high quality sectional door Carsec Pro (max. 5.5 m w and max. 3.5 m h), the sectional sliding door Carsec Pro lateral (max. 8 m w and max. 4 m h) the roller door Carrol (with slats 55 or 77, max. 4 m w and max 4 m h) and the latest new product developed by Soprofen, the Carsec Origine sectional door. The Carsec Origine is a new sectional door specially developed with the aim of offering the highest quality basic door at a very attractive price. In this way, the range covers just about every demand. As mentioned, the R&D department focuses its efforts on the ease of installation for our customers. 

"The Carsec Pro door, for example, can be installed in about an hour and a half by an experienced professional, thanks in particular to a number of well-designed functional options. For example, the motor can be mounted on a rear crossbar, eliminating the need for time-consuming ceiling mounting. Soprofen is also a pioneer in the field of pre-assembled tension springs: it is no longer necessary to mount torsion springs at lintel level, our solution means that the doorposts can be mounted with the tension springs already integrated, and then all you have to do is adjust the tension," explains Valérie. The system is available for doors up to 5m wide. Its durability is underlined by the use of 1.5 mm thick steel, cast aluminum and stainless steel components at the feet of the guide rails to ensure extra strength and prevent moisture from rising and causing rust.

Customization at its best

In terms of customization, there is a wide choice of dimensions, finishes and colors. Since Soprofen has several thermo and wet painting installations in production, the color of the garage door can be perfectly matched to that of the existing windows. Adding a motorized drive or fitting specific rails, or... integrating one or more windows of different sizes to let in natural light... everything is possible. 

According to Valérie, there are three main criteria that determine the purchase decision: security, insulation and aesthetics. "The security aspect is not related to the use itself, but rather to burglary protection. That's why we developed a special system that prevents burglary attempts. This comes in a security package that we offer as an option. Insulation is guaranteed through the use of 40 mm thick insulated panels and specially designed rubber seals. Operation and color are also assured in demanding environments, such as seaside houses, thanks to a special qualitative treatment that makes the garage door resistant to severe weather and environmental influences," Valérie adds.

Service is the key

"As a manufacturer, the trick is to make these highly technical products easy to install and perfectly adapted to each specific situation," says Valérie. But in the event of a technical problem, B2B customers can call the hotline directly and/or seek help from our intervention service. And for the Belgian and Dutch markets, Soprofen also offers its own assembly service, which takes care of measuring and assembling the Carsec Pro garage door on site. Again, the end result is a correct installation that guarantees optimal operation of the door in its specific environment.
