Coulisse expands with acquisitions of Lienesch and Sensuna

Coulisse, the global market leader in window coverings, will acquire Lienesch International BV in Haaksbergen and Sensuna GmbH in Plauen, Germany, effective January 1, 2024. The acquisitions will further strengthen Coulisse's global position in the field of honeycomb and pleated fabrics and systems in the market for interior sunprotection. Coulisse's sales are expected to increase to €200 million by 2024, with approximately 350 employees.

Complete honeycomb and pleated solution

The acquisitions bring together the long-standing knowledge and expertise of Coulisse, Lienesch and Sensuna in developing and manufacturing a total solution of honeycomb and pleated fabrics, systems and motorization. The three companies' extensive global network of distributors, assembly partners and retailers will now have the convenience of sourcing a complete product line from a single supplier.

Lienesch specialist in fabrics

With more than 20 years of experience, Lienesch has become a leading specialist in honeycomb and pleated fabrics since it was founded by Bennie Lienesch in 2001. The strategic cooperation between Coulisse and Lienesch, which started in 2011, led to the launch of the energy-saving Honeycell® fabric collection. Thanks to excellent knowledge of textiles, continuous innovation, and close relationships with the market, Lienesch offers high-quality and inspiring fabrics for indoor blinds. The textile production facilities will remain in Haaksbergen after the acquisition.

Sensuna system experts

To complete its honeycomb and pleated solutions, Coulisse is acquiring Sensuna from owners Hartmut Knauth and Kathrin Kaiser in Plauen, Germany. The company specializes in the production of custom-made honeycomb and pleated systems, which are delivered to online sales channels. With this acquisition, Coulisse enters into a partnership with Window Fashion AG. All of Sensuna's previous activities and Window Fashion AG's production facility will be incorporated into the new joint venture Smart Shades GmbH.

Two booths at R+T 2024

Following the recent developments, Coulisse will present its latest innovations in two booths at the upcoming R+T fair in Stuttgart in February 2024. The Motionblinds smart home stand will consist of an immersive room, smart device room, and exclusive product launches. At the same time, the joint Lienesch and Coulisse booth will showcase the latest pleated and honeycomb fabrics, with a focus on a new range of recycled materials. This underlines the commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient solutions, matching current market needs.
