Power outages are now an increasing problem because power grids are sensitive to possible steam failures. This can sometimes cause short power outages due to thunderstorms or bad weather, for example. In these situations it is of course very convenient if you can still operate your screen by hand. Power outages are a particular threat to awnings with an electric awning drive because they can no longer respond to thunderstorms or rain, and there is a danger that this could damage the awning.
Therefore, Becker-Benelux has developed the new drive series "E33" (with electronic limit switch) and "C33" (with integrated remote control). These series are equipped with an additional easy-to-operate emergency hand crank so that they can be operated normally even in the event of a power failure. The crank allows the awning to be retracted safely at all times. The series are designed for installation in end customer properties and also in the Hospitality sector. Ease of use is always an important consideration in development.
Compared to older awning drives that could be wound with a manual crank in an emergency, the gear ratio has been significantly improved. As a result, these new drives can reach the upper end position much faster.
Becker's E33 and C33 drive systems are an ideal solution for reliable outdoor awning protection. In an emergency, the awning can now be retracted almost effortlessly. No other electronic drive system can be moved so easily by hand. Both drives can also independently regain their end positions after manual operation, without the intervention of a technician who needs to readjust.
The new series of drives is equipped with other important functions that can be optionally activated. They are equipped with a convenient fabric tensioning function so that you can enjoy the fabric on the awning for many years. Especially with veranda awnings, it is important to briefly re-tension the fabric when reaching the lower end position. The E33 and C33 drives pull the fabric back slightly so that it does not sag and form wrinkles.
To provide additional protection for the awning, the Drive Series is also equipped with an optional fabric correction feature. After the screen is fully retracted, the screen moves slightly in the opposite direction to reduce strain on the fabric and ensure that it is not rolled up too tightly.
In addition, the stopping behavior of both types of drives can be switched between "soft," which is usually required for open awnings, and "hard." Thus, the cassette of a cassette awning always remains firmly closed and the awning is reliably protected from weather influences
