ROMA: 'An extremely wide selection of outdoor blinds'

ROMA profiles itself in the Benelux as a leading player in the field of exterior blinds. "Both visible on the facade and integrated ín the facade, ROMA offers quality and innovative solutions," said ROMA Benelux director Toon van Osta. "We are pleased to provide an overview of our delivery program."

For its exterior blinds, ROMA provides a wide slat selection: 

• Flat slats of types FL 60 and FL 80
• The standard bead blades in the GL 60 and GL 80 types

At ROMA, these slats are used a lot in projects and less for exterior blinds for individuals. ROMA has the following slat packages for that: 

• DBL 70 and DBL 85
• ZL 81
• CDL 70

"In this regard, the CDL 70 slat is our flagship," Van Osta believes. "This slat is more wind-resistant than all other slats and can withstand wind speeds of up to 22 m/s, while the rest in the standard version are at a maximum of 17 m/s." 

"The CDL 70 slat gives 100% privacy and makes it almost as dark inside as a shutter," Van Osta continued. "We advise our customers not to fit bedrooms with exterior blinds. Modern exterior blinds don't make as much noise as they used to, but then again, it's not like they don't produce noise. A bedroom needs a roller shutter or possibly a zipSCREEN.2 with blackout fabric. These make it dark, but not lightproof, because blackout does not exist." 

The ROMA systems

ROMA offers its exterior blinds in four system groups. "With these systems, we can meet any challenge!", emphasizes Toon van Osta. The four systems are: 

• The facade exterior blind
• The raffstore
• The Modulo
• The PURO 2

The façade exterior blind, which is mounted against the façade, is mostly used in projects. The Raffstore and Modulo are mainly used for small projects and mostly private applications. "They are the systems of choice for many of our shading specialists," Van Osta said. "For small quantities up to about twenty units, both of the latter systems allow 70% to be assembled more quickly. Assembly is as easy as mounting a roller shutter or screen." 

The PURO 2 is a built-in variant for the frame and, according to Toon van Osta, is used when exterior blinds, shutters and screens are combined. "Then a single box can be integrated into the facade and a choice made from one of these three products." 

"Our motto is: steel wire guidance you only sell to customers, whom you really hate!", Toon van Osta concludes his story about the ROMA systems. "It may be nice because the wire guidance is less noticeable, but it is and remains an unstable rattle," he leaves nothing to be clarified. 

Efficient

"An outdoor Venetian blind repels heat better than a screen or roller shutter in ventilation mode and regulates sunlight optimally," emphasizes Toon van Osta. "Also the morning and evening sun, which a screen with a standard Sergé fabric can do less or not at all. Think of a sliding door 4 m wide and up to 2.7 m high. Surely it is a dream, to hang an outdoor blind in a shutter box 17 cm high in front of that!
