Earlier this year Unilux was already convinced: the newly developed Plisséfit screen door would become an absolute sales success in 2024. The new version of this screen door promised to be 'silent' and to produce 'less noise': so little to no noise when the screen door is opened or closed, an enormous quality boost compared to the previous 'version'. We therefore found it super interesting to see how the market assesses this innovation so halfway through the sun protection season. For this edition of trade magazine Z&R, we spoke to a number of dealers around the country who sell the silent screen door. The conclusion? Satisfaction prevails!
Thomas Schmit, director and co-owner of Schmit Zonwering in Dronten, says: "The Plisséfit screen door was actually already the best available. But now that the silent screen door has come on the market this year, there is a world of difference. Before, the whole street could hear when a screen door was closed or opened. Now you no longer hear anything. Quiet is quiet. I think Unilux took the feedback from the market very well and came up with a perfect answer. We therefore sell it with great pleasure and we can honestly say that consumers are very satisfied."
In Hurdegaryp, at Jansma Wonen, we note similar reactions. Owner Erwin Jansma explains that he himself had the "old version" of the screen door at home. "My neighbor boy sometimes said to me: I always hear it when you are at home. And he was right about that. Needless to say, we are happy that we can now sell a silent screen door. We have added it to our showroom furniture. When we got this one demonstrated for the first time, I didn't know what I was hearing. Or to put it another way, I knew what I wasn't hearing! It really is a vast improvement that makes it even nicer to sell this screen door. We still have the old - noisy - version hanging in the back door of our store. We let the consumer hear it and then immediately demonstrate the new - silent - one. Well ... you don't really have to have a sales talk anymore. We are happy with it and it also suits Unilux: when they introduce something, you know they are doing it right. They leave nothing to chance."
Sabrina van Roemburg who together with her husband runs the firm Techosol in Alkmaar can also give nothing but compliments for the new silent screen door. "We too still have the old screen door hanging in the store. We then open and close it after which we demonstrate the silent one. Well, the consumer is immediately sold. We are very satisfied with it!"
Gerwin Brands, director/owner of Deco Zonwering from Heesch joins all the previous speakers but also adds something new. "This silent screen door will be seen as a huge asset especially in apartment buildings. Because of the prevention of noise pollution. Which is exactly what you want to prevent in apartment buildings in every possible way. The quieter, the better. A consumer can't say 'No' to this."
