ROMA: "Partner with Loxone!

"Loxone is the most advanced wireless home automation system for residential homes," ROMA Benelux director Toon van Osta is convinced. "Swiss precision in optima forma!"

With Loxone, light, sound, shutters, outdoor blinds and screens can be controlled. "Loxone works perfectly and only together with Geiger AIR motors," said Van Osta. "We as ROMA encounter the system more and more in new construction projects, where the builder has done his homework well. The big advantage is that the home automation system can look inside the motor. So you no longer have a discussion about whether it's because of the motor or the control system."

"Where Loxone home automation is already operational, the homeowner had our stuff incorporated into his Loxone system in no time with his app and working perfectly. Meanwhile, there are also already a large number of installers who are Loxone partners and also know their stuff."

"Of course, it is also possible to work with an actuator and use a 'dumb motor.' Then, although some of the advantage of the Loxone system is lost, it is still a fine system."

Tahoma and Connexoon from Somfy

Tahoma and Connexoon from Somfy are fine systems to apply in existing situations, according to Toon van Osta. "In my opinion more for the 'Hobby Bob'. But I myself would also apply one of these two systems in my new house, purely to be able to work with Somfy motors, because they are still number one for me. But if you look purely at the control system, Loxone wins it in terms of functionality, stability, possibilities and certainly in terms of reliability and professionalism by distance."

"The fact is also that wireless home automation is much more favorable in price than wired," Van Osta concludes his argument. "The components are the same or perhaps slightly more expensive in price, but the cabling is the deciding factor. It is known that wired is generally much more stable and reliable than wireless, but Loxone is absolutely comparable to wired in that respect and then wins on flexibility. Moreover, even with new construction, there are always things that are still desired afterwards. Fitting in a wireless system is then a piece of cake."
