Roma: 'New controls for garage doors'

"ROMA has added a new controller for garage doors to its product range, says Roma Benelux director Toon van Osta. "This controller is bi-directional and can therefore also receive feedback." The transmitter indicates with a vibration signal that a commanded action has been performed. It is also possible to request the position of the door. The transmitter then indicates with a color LED whether the door is open or closed or whether it is somewhere between these two end positions.

A smart door at a smart control

Garage doors are not a core business for ROMA, but the specialist in shutters and awnings nevertheless has a clever solution in its range. "We often want to put a lot more than just our car in our garage," Van Osta observes. "The space under the ceiling is then particularly practical, for example for a ski box, a ladder or a parasol. But that space is usually claimed by the sectional door. Then a Roma roller door is a clever solution, because it winds up like a roller shutter in a closet, in front or in the garage. This leaves the entire space above the car available as storage space."

The Roma roller door has aluminum slats with a cover width of 55 or 77 mm. The patented arrestor makes the armor extra wind-resistant. "It also ensures that the roller door offers up to three times more resistance to burglary attempts than systems without this option," said Van Osta. "An extruded connection to the roll-up shaft prevents the armor from being lifted."

"Furthermore, all Roma roller shutters are certified, meet the highest safety and performance standards for garage doors EN 13241-1 and are equipped with roll-off protection, underrun protection, passage protection and force limiter," Van Osta emphasizes. And he sees another advantage: "The combination of roller shutters, exterior blinds and roller doors from Roma offers the opportunity to give a home a beautiful, uniform appearance!"
