BECKER Benelux: 'Belgian sun protection specialist benefits from BECKER Benelux expertise'

Pyfferoen of Heule near Kortrijk has specialized in the assembly and sale of blinds and shutters for more than fifty years. For the drive and control of the awning products, the West Flemish family business has been using BECKER Benelux tubular motors for almost a quarter of a century. "Thanks to continuous product innovation at BECKER, we can always offer our customers the latest technologies and systems," says Managing Director Karl Pyfferoen. 

Karl Pyfferoen represents the fifth generation of the Pyfferoen family business, whose history dates back to 1845. Today, the company has a solid reputation in the market thanks to its in-house assembly of quality AVZ-branded articulated awnings, veranda awnings, pergola awnings, vertical screens and shutters. "We opt for long-term cooperation with strong brands," says the business manager. "That includes BECKER Benelux, where we have been purchasing the drives for our various awning products since February 1999." 

Evolution tube motors

Over the past quarter century, Karl Pyfferoen has witnessed the evolution of BECKER's tube motors up close. "Whereas some twenty-five years ago there was only one type of tube motor with a mechanical limit switch, tube motors with electronic limit switches then followed, and finally the remotely controllable tube motors, in the form of the now proven Centronic technology. The nice thing for us as assemblers is that the Centronic is easy to install. And among our customer base, consisting mainly of private homeowners, there is a growing demand for wireless control of shutters and blinds. Partly because of the user-friendliness and the perfect finish without cables, customers are happy to pay an extra price for a wireless system." 

Centronic Plus

In the field of sunshade drives, BECKER is always at the forefront, Pyfferoen believes. "A good example of this is Centronic Plus, the latest generation of tubular motors. The special feature of these motors is that they work bidirectionally, so the current status of the devices can be queried via the app at all times. These motors also come standard with a number of functions that ensure safety and comfort for users. These include obstacle detection, lift protection, fabric correction, the ability to set intermediate positions and much more. Another BECKER innovation that is increasingly in demand is the CC41 home control center. With this you can operate roller shutters or blinds very easily from home or elsewhere using the special BECKER app. In addition, the user can easily enter switching times or sun, wind and rain values via this app." 

Transparent relationship

Pyfferoen is very pleased with the cooperation with BECKER Benelux. "Account Manager Guy Scheerlinck of BECKER has a lot of personal attention for us and our relationship is very family-like. And if, for example, there is once a technical problem with a tube motor, BECKER is always there for us to solve it quickly.
