Winsol: 'SolarFix, our award-winning solar front screens'

"With summer approaching, everyone is looking for ways to keep their homes nice and fresh," said Xavier Costenoble, CEO of Winsol. "That they save energy as well as money in the process is obviously a nice bonus. It is common knowledge that screens effectively block heat and prevent a home from heating up. Winsol's SolarFix front screens also offer another financial benefit."

The SolarFix won a 2020 Red Dot Design Award.

'Meet SolarFix'

According to Costenoble, these solar-powered front screens are the ideal solution for those wishing to install screens on existing windows. "Their compact 90, 110 or 125 millimeter case fits perfectly into the day of most facades, making them extremely suitable for both renovation and new construction projects. The box fits completely into the day, so the screens do not protrude from the facade. Moreover, the bottom batten does not block light, as it disappears completely into the cabinet when the screens are raised."

Due to the slim design, SolarFix front screens fit nicely into the day.

"What sets SolarFix apart the most are the two solar panels subtly integrated into the cabinet. These charge the powerful 4 Ah battery, which is almost double the performance of other systems. Thanks to the battery's large storage capacity, SolarFix works up to twice as long, even on cloudy and winter days, and these screens can handle a fabric area of up to 15 square meters. This is perfectly matched by the 20 Nm Silent Solar motor that drives SolarFix. It is suitable for screens with a width or height of up to 5 meters. So with SolarFix, end users use free solar energy to operate their blinds. Because the screens are not connected to the electricity grid, they therefore have no impact on the amount of the energy bill."

'Great design'

"Anyone who chooses front screens obviously wants it to look excellent," Costenoble continued. "That the housing fits the house seamlessly in terms of dimensions is already indicated. In addition, Winsol ensures that the solar panels are integrated as discreetly as possible into the screen system. For example, the end user can choose a symmetrical design with both left and right solar panels. With the asymmetrical design, both panels are on one side of the box. Those who want a very sleek effect can opt for the Black Belt finish. In this case, the underside of the housing is painted in the color of the solar panels so that they are almost invisible. A final option is the color design. In this case, the solar panels are printed in the same color as the enclosure. All these design options have earned the SolarFix a Red Dot Design Award in 2020!"
