'The launch of the brand new Coolscreen Solar'

With the Coolscreen Solar, sun protection specialist Harol is perfecting its screen that runs entirely on solar energy and gives the end user year-round control over sunlight. "The Coolscreen Solar is a feat of technical and aesthetic ingenuity for natural cooling of buildings," says technical director Joris Draelants. "The sleek and minimalist design with an eye for sustainability also stands out."  

Whether opened or closed, the screen offers a sleek appearance. 

"The new Coolscreen Solar from Harol combines 100% green energy with minimalist design and high-tech innovation. The solar-powered screen is mounted completely on the outside of the window and thus fits both new construction and existing windows without any cutting or breaking." 

"The Coolscreen Solar is powered by a powerful solar panel and battery of 2.2 Ah. Even facing north or on a less sunny day, the screen continues to work thanks to the large storage capacity of the battery. Charging time is three hours. Fully charged, the screen can open and close twice a day for 30 days." 

"From the initial design, sustainable design principles were central, with a minimum of parts, which are not glued but clicked together. Thus, at the end of their life cycle, they can be reused in the circular economy and contribute to a sustainable society. Furthermore, Coolscreen Solar is produced using 100% green energy from the Harol wind turbine and the cabinet and parts are powder coated in the company's own environmentally friendly powder coating plant." 

"The battery is completely invisibly concealed in the stylish, cubic aluminum cabinet, which is available in two sizes. Together with the extra narrow guide, the invisible weld seam and the bottom lath that disappears completely into the cabinet, this creates a sleek and minimalist design that suits any architecture. The screwless, interlocking design of the latest generation of Coolscreens also contributes to this." 

"The new Coolscreen Solar has only one type of guide in one size - 35 mm - that can be used in different applications as well as for different cabinet models and sizes. This provides on-and-off flexibility. Moreover, fast and efficient installation and overhaul is possible thanks to the innovative Cable Control Technology." 

"For the Coolscreen Solar, Harol has perfected the zipper guide profile consisting of a polymer co-extrusion. This means that the fabric is always under ideal tension, even under extreme temperatures. The narrow bottom bar is weighted, which means that the fabric also remains perfectly under tension horizontally. The screen operates silently thanks to the optimized Harol X-glide technology, a profile that completely neutralizes resonance in the case," concludes Joris Draelants.
