Guests want to go outside, so the hospitality industry wants too!

It is clear that guests in the hospitality industry these days like to go outside. Increasingly, people are sitting outside in weather conditions that would have driven them inside long before. Collars up, maybe even the gloves on, but still getting some fresh air outside. 

The awning world and other specialists are responding by facilitating that trend. They do this with awnings, (catering) parasols, patio covers and the like, plus the accompanying accessories, such as LED lighting, heaters and a music system. Everything to please the guest. 

Occasionally, hospitality canopies are so luxurious that outside is pretty much the same as inside. Of course, the best is when it can do both. A large hospitality parasol, for example, can be folded: outdoors, but also unfolded: indoors and protected. The same, of course, applies to most patio covers. A folding roof can easily be opened, and so can a slat roof, especially if the slats can also slide. Closed, these roofs offer protection from the sun or rain. In addition, the slat roof offers the possibility of using tilted slats to block out the sun while still providing ventilation. So there are plenty of possibilities to please both the guests and the hospitality entrepreneur. 

They also thought so in Almere-Haven where CORNELS has realized the - as far as we know - largest catering roof in Europe. This issue reports on it. The entire canopy is no less than 60 meters long and it covers some 400 square meters of catering terrace. It can safely be called - literally and figuratively - a project of stature! 

CORNELS is - quite rightly - only too proud of this project, and the Almeerse hospitality entrepreneurs in turn are delighted. They can facilitate the guests who "want to go out" and thus retain their loyalty. And it is good for the city, which has gained an attractive entertainment area. So everyone is happy!
