When Brustor introduced the first slat roof, there were some doubts in the market whether it would be a success. Outdoor living was then a hype, which people thought would disappear over time. More than a decade later, patio covers come in all shapes and sizes. As an awning specialist, it comes down to always being able to offer the right awning for every customer. With the Choose-Your-Sky concept, Brustor supports its dealers in this task, which is often not to be underestimated. The West-Flemish manufacturer offers a wide range of systems, each with their own characteristics and personalization possibilities according to the consumer's wishes.
"Every project starts with a conversation, in which the sun protection specialist has to determine through targeted questions which canopy best suits the application," says Brustor sales manager Maxim Devos. "It's our job as a manufacturer to help them do that, by clearly presenting the various systems with their pros and cons as well as USPs, and providing a platform, with which they can quickly and accurately determine a customer's wishes and needs. The possibilities and the number of players have only increased over the years. Our range includes canopies with a roof made of canvas, glass or slats that can tilt and even slide open. They are available in a wide range of colors and can be attached to the facade or mounted freestanding. They can also be expanded with integrated zipscreens or sliding walls in glass or wood, functional and/or ambient lighting, patio heating, bluetooth speakers and so on. Everything to make it a cozy outdoor room."
Slats, cloth or glass
At Brustor, they pride themselves on having the most complete range of patio covers on the market. They were one of the first manufacturers to launch a slat roof over a decade ago. Today, the B200 XL with tiltable 21 cm slats is still a crowd favorite within the Brustor range and the basis for many other products. "After all, the profiles of this system no longer hold any secrets for installation teams. Moreover, this terrace canopy is available in large dimensions and can be placed in the most diverse combinations: freestanding, attached, with double roof, as a built-in roof, coupled, in star or L shape with overhang or door post," continues Devos.
"However, we did get quite a few comments from the market that end customers were afraid that with a slatted roof, a lot of light might be lost in the home or catering establishment. Therefore, the range was expanded to include solutions that are continuous or more open as desired, including the B128 and the B128 XL pergolas with electrically retractable roof fabric and the B600 S slat roof with compact s-shaped slats, which not only can tilt but also slide open. And we go even further, as our new B720 combines a fixed roof section in glass or sandwich panels with a roof section consisting of tilting slats. This gives you a pleasant outdoor terrace as well as a dry space for placing furniture, a bar, an outdoor kitchen or simply garden equipment. The skylight allows daylight to enter even when the slats are closed. The recently launched B800 with complete glass roof completes the range," concludes Devos.
