ROMA: 'Innovation continues for outdoor blinds too'

That's the message from Toon van Osta of ROMA Benelux. "Constantly! Not so long ago, ROMA added a new slat to its range. It is the GL 85, presented by ROMA as an upgrade of the GL 80. "This slat replaces the old project slat GL 80. The GL 85 is radically renewed, closes better than its predecessor and at the same time offers more transparency," Van Osta explains. "Because the GL 85 slat, like all other exterior blinds slats from ROMA, is equipped with a ridge on both sides in front of the guide. This creates more stability and makes the GL 85 stack much neater and more compact than the old GL 80. As a result, the slat moves much less and is therefore also 'quieter'." 

Slats

ROMA can supply its exterior blinds with four types of slats, each with its specific characteristics: 

• CDL slat - Comfort & Design slat, aluminum, beaded on both sides, with a rubber strip on the outside for noise reduction, perfectly sealing (100% privacy), highly wind-stable, eccentrically mounted, lacquered
• ZL 81-lamel - Z-shaped, aluminum slat, beaded on both sides, with a rubber strip on the outside for noise reduction, nitro-lacquered
• DBL lam - S-shaped, curved, aluminum, bead blasted on both sides, with a rubber strip on the outside for noise reduction, nitro-lacquered
• GL 85-lamel - classically curved, aluminum, beaded on two sides, 180-degree tilt (the other slats have 90-degree tilt), naturalized.

Matt lacquer

"The GL 85 is the first slat from ROMA to be available as standard only in matte paint, for example in matte black, currently a very sought-after color," said Van Osta. "All our exterior louver slats are also available in matte as standard from now on. Until the end of the year, they will also remain available in silk gloss, from then on only in matte as standard. This trend will also follow in the shutters. The main reason is that the matte paint is less susceptible to damage and more colorfast." 

Cabinets

As you know, ROMA has redefined the case sizes for shutters (see ROMA's contribution in the topic Shutters), making them more logical and easier and more unambiguous to handle. ROMA extends that story to its exterior blinds. Especially for exterior blinds, the 170 x 190 mm in the Quadro version has been included in the range as an additional option.
