When planning buildings, architects and planners regularly find themselves in a field of tension: the solutions devised must meet visual requirements but at the same time be highly functional. This challenge also plays a role in the planning of curtain walls with sun protection.
To protect indoor spaces from overheating despite large glass facades, heroal offers the external Zip-Screen system heroal VS Z CS for effective sun and heat protection. Thanks to the stable zipper technology, the system is certified for wind and ball resistance - also for large shaded areas up to 6 m width and 18 m² surface area.
heroal VS Z CS enables partial and seamless integration of blinds into the heroal C 50 aluminum curtain wall system and those of other manufacturers. The newly developed integration profile for the heroal guide rail GR 25 is inserted into the curtain wall system using a also newly developed fastening technique. Unlike conventional facade integration with traverses, the heroal VS Z awning is particularly close to the curtain wall element. This ensures high wind stability of up to 145 km/h because the wind can hardly get behind the awning.
At the same time, this ensures particularly discreet integration of the blinds: when the heroal VS Z blinds system is fully raised, it is not noticeable that the curtain wall profiles are fitted with blinds. Even when lowered, the new solution is particularly aesthetic, because at a view width of 25 mm, the use of two heroal guide rails GR 25 results in exactly the same view width of 50 mm as the heroal curtain wall system C 50. Since heroal GR 25 can be used along the entire length of the façade profile, curtain walls up to 5 meters high can also be shaded with the partially integrated heroal VS Z CS.
If several sun protection elements are mounted side by side on the curtain wall, the heroal VS Z CS demonstrates its great assembly advantages: each individual element can be optimally aligned to the curtain wall thanks to the integrated side and depth adjustment, as the sun protection can be adjusted three-dimensionally and accommodates and compensates for construction tolerances.
