The "MX-4" is the latest design model from markilux. The beautifully designed cassette awning has only just come to market, but has already been awarded the "Red Dot Design Award" 2023. The award is one of the largest international design competitions. The awning specialist received this award, among many other prizes, in the "Product Design" discipline for the umpteenth time already.

Markilux products can be described with the attributes "beautifully designed", "intelligent" and "smart". The sun protection specialist has been able to score time and again in recent years, especially with the stylish MX family. And not only with consumers, but also with various design awards. Now the latest model, the "MX-4" cassette awning, convinced the expert jury of the "Red Dot Design Award" in the "Product Design" discipline and received the prestigious prize.

"We were overjoyed with the award. This award, headquartered in Essen, is one of the largest and most renowned competitions in the world. The award has a decades-long tradition and awards only the best design," says Michael Gerling, Director of Production and Technology. The company has already received the award repeatedly for several screens. Each time it is a great achievement for the entire team of developers and is a confirmation of the design concepts. "Especially considering that a total of about 20,000 concepts are submitted to the competition every year," Gerling emphasizes. For example, in 2023 in the discipline "Product Design" alone, creatives and companies from 60 countries participated in 51 categories.

"We naturally wanted to be among the top with the 'MX-4' at the award," says the director. Because the total package of simple and elegant shapes, individual LED lights in the design of the screen and the smart lighting technology with beautiful color effects has winner quality. The award has now officially confirmed this. The product was able to convince the international expert jury in terms of the decisive criteria: functionality, attractiveness, utility value and responsibility for people and the environment. Michael Gerling is convinced that good design is an important expression of brand value and strives to continue on this successful course. Now people are looking forward to being honored at the "Designers Night" on June 19.
