markilux: 'Our pergola cubic with cubist design is well received'

Although markilux's pergola cubic has only gone on sale from summer 2022, the model with its new, square fabric cassette has quickly gained popularity, notes Michael Gerling, Director of Production and Technology at markilux. "For businesslike and simple cube shapes are popular because they fit stylistically well with contemporary architecture. As a cubist variant of the pergola classic, the model has therefore already taken a permanent place in our pergola product family after only a short time." 

"The pergola classic has been successfully present on the market for many years," Gerling continues. "In mid-2022, we introduced a new model based on the classic with the pergola cubic. In addition to the premium, proven technology of the classic, the screen has additional lighting options. In addition, with the markilux 7800 we also have an overhead awning for patio roofs and conservatories with square fabric cassette."

"We have been offering the pergola cubic since last summer. We were immediately delighted with the large number of orders we were able to record for it right from the start, because normally most products need a start-up phase to establish themselves on the market. Usually we start with new products at the beginning of the season, but with the pergola cubic this was not possible for technical reasons and because of delays in supply. Meanwhile, it has become increasingly difficult to plan development cicli anyway. That is why we were all the more pleased with the high demand for the pergola cubic after its introduction in the summer." 

"The square shape of the cloth cassette adds yet another new aspect to the design of the pergola product family," Gerling believes. "Moreover, simple, cubic shapes are more popular than ever because they fit the geometry of modern buildings. But this requires the square components to be clearly visible, and this is the case with our new pergola model. Therefore, we assume that the square version will become even more popular in the future than the pergola classic with its round cassette." 

For Gerling, the pergola cubic is further proof that it pays to keep a close eye on the market by investing in research into trends and listening carefully to what customers want. "Thus, we have once again developed a screen for large outdoor spaces with a flexible design and a wide variety of convenient technological options. With this, the pergola cubic meets exactly the needs of many contemporary consumers."
