Manta Roofs strives with its canopies to enable atmospheric enjoyment of the terrace in all weathers. The stylish textile canopies offer protection from the sun, rain and wind, without losing the view. Co-founder Bart Weesing of Manta Roofs shines his light on this solution.
Although Manta Roofs has only been around for a short time, the company has the wind in its sails. "Our decking solutions are well received. We get a lot of compliments. Customers enjoy sitting under them."
Because storm-proof patio covers protect against both sun and bad weather, they effectively extend the patio season. "I prefer to think of them as a shade roof rather than a shade cloth. Even if the weather turns, you'll be fine."
In addition, Manta Roofs' solutions have a longer lifespan than other canopies. "Our canopies have the great advantage that you don't have to dismantle them all the time. They are designed to last a long time. As a result, they keep their stretch and our customers have less work to do with them."
For Manta Roofs, it's clearly not just about functionality. The canopies are also designed for optimal patio ambience. "The larger the space, the more difficult it is to make it cozy. Our designs focus on that. Under the curves of the canopy you have a feeling of security, but because of the high points you never completely close off the terrace. Moreover, we preserve the sightlines. So there is a nice balance between coziness and spaciousness."
Although the canopies are tailored very precisely to the customer's wishes and needs, the design process is fast and efficient. "Based on photos of the customer, we look at the possibilities and make a preliminary cost calculation. If that is all within expectations, we schedule an appointment to go over the various designs. We take extensive time with our customers during the design phase and find that they get very excited even at that stage!"
Manta Roofs uses ingenious software to provide a unique solution that perfectly matches the patio and the customer's needs. "That software shows the incidence of light at different points of the day. This allows us to optimize the design right at the drawing board, until we have a canopy that completely does what it is supposed to do!"
As a great example of the possibilities of Manta Roofs canopies, Bart Weesing mentions the canopy of Alfa Beer in Schinnen. "Three years ago Alfa built a new building for beer tastings and tours, among other things. This also includes a catering facility with a large terrace. We designed a canopy of no less than 125 square meters, in one piece! Because no poles or feet are needed in the middle, you also preserve all the space on the terrace."
"Besides space and protection, the canopy provides something beautiful to look at. The patio had a fairly modern look with lots of clean lines. The flowing shapes of the canopy break those up nicely. Alfa completed the terrace experience with LED lighting, which allows them to illuminate the terrace at night in a color of their liking. Anyone driving past the building now turns their head! An average terrace thus becomes an eye-catcher."
