Jaap & Kim's Brera slat roof is built into the patio roof to integrate the patio cover with the home as much as possible. "By building the slat roof onto the house, you create an extension of your home," Draelants says. "Our Harol installers sat around the table with the architect to discuss aspects such as foundation, roof structure, anchoring and roof finish. Based on this, we created a customized solution. Thus, the slat roof perfectly matches the architecture of the house. The result is beautiful."

Screens for optimal comfort

Harol offers a wide choice of upgrades to extend the patio covers. Draelants: "Jaap told us that during the summer months they suffer a lot from insects such as midges. Screens are a good solution for that. More than six months after installing the Brera slat roof, we expanded the terrace solution with our Harol Coolscreens.

These not only keep insects at bay, but also the low sun in early spring and provide extra protection in wind and rain. Jaap and Kim can completely close off their terrace with the integrated screens. In the process, they retain sufficient light so they can always enjoy their beautiful view."
