At tennis club 't Kepèrke in Oud-Gastel, Brabant, they can be satisfied with what vice-chairman Alwie van Hooijdonk (also chairman of the accommodation committee) has achieved. At least, governing was forward-looking because even a tennis club has to think about its own image. And, the bar turnover. Because, if you want to boost that, you obviously want your clubhouse to look great, so that all your visitors stay longer. That worked out. Just before the summer vacations, Toine Dekkers from TD Zonwering in Roosendaal installed a truly beautiful terrace covering from the Rainbow Collection.
Robert Bosch, responsible for sales at the manufacturer, wanted to see the end result with his own eyes. A short time ago he visited the tennis club. TD Zonwering Roosendaal installed the Fiësta in Sparkling Black, with side walls and lighting. And that over an area of about 20 by 15 meters where also in a professional manner an assembly technical challenge was overcome. The terrace covering also had to go around the corner.
Alwie van Hooijdonk explains that he obviously had an agreement from the membership meeting prior to the process. "After all, the members are paying for it. But everyone saw that it was dire necessity to provide our terrace with an upgrade. Before, we had a flat asphalt roof. It no longer looked like that. We could do better. Moreover, our tennis club will exist 60 years in 2026. Then of course you want your appearance to be completely in order. We noticed that it was good for the bar turnover when we organized our open tournament in the summer. Then many tennis players from other clubs come to our club to play against each other during the tournament week. And yes, then you also want to have a drink on the terrace afterwards! And if possible... on a nice terrace!"
Alwie says that - once he had approval from the members' meeting - he started looking in the region at possible suppliers. He ended up at TD Zonweringen in Roosendaal. "I work for an installation company myself, so I know what to ask when I'm talking to the trade, but I also saw immediately that Toine Dekkers was knowledgeable. It was handled really professionally."
Robert Bosch of Rainbow Collection also could not help but conclude that TD Roosendaal did a sterling job. "These are quite special projects," says Robert. "We actually have contact with our customers - the specialist trade in the Netherlands - every day and it is therefore a present for me when I can enter into conversation with an end user, in this case the tennis club. I think the 350 members here can be more than satisfied. Of course we are very happy that the tennis club - in consultation with TD Roosendaal - has chosen our brand."
Toine Dekkers of TD Roosendaal is also a satisfied man. "I think many other suppliers would not have dared to do this because this project was certainly not a standard challenge. It was also a big job but fair is fair: I really think the tennis club can be happy with this." According to Toine and Robert, Alwie and his tennis buddies can certainly continue with this for 15 to 20 years!
