Warema has long offered shading systems for integration into curtain wall constructions. Depending on the requirements in terms of design or technology, a choice can be made between frame screen and external blinds. The market leader for sun protection technology has now thoroughly revised the design of its solution. Planning, ordering and assembly now become even easier, with the integration into the facade becoming even more aesthetically attractive.
Basis for the planning and execution of both variants are now the axis dimensions of the uprights. Axle spacing and overall height from bottom of guide rail to top of hood or cabinet - Warema does not need much more data. Via these two dimensions, all system parts are assembled and configured into an overall package. Depending on the installation situation, only a few more details are required, such as the required gable distance or roof overhang at the corners. This makes planning and ordering extremely efficient.
When developing the new sun protection for curtain walls, particular attention was paid to the possibility of quick and economical assembly. Completely pre-assembled units are supplied, ready for assembly: hood or box, guide rails exactly matched to the length, as well as all the necessary fasteners. With the frame screens, everything, including the fabric, is already integrated into the box. With the exterior blinds, the hood is already fully equipped with reinforcement brackets, hanging profile and top rail carrier for hanging the system. Due to the high degree of prefabrication of both systems, installation on the construction site is significantly simplified and accelerated. Any sources of error are reduced to a minimum - which is especially beneficial in times of skilled labor shortages.
The frame-screen variant with easyZIP guidance is particularly attractively integrated into the curtain wall. The new guide rails are now practically designed as complete aluminum extruded profiles and are placed directly on the glass slats. In terms of their appearance and the chosen system width of 50 mm, the new guide rails match the majority of all implemented curtain wall constructions and are seen as an integral part of them. Independent of system suppliers, these guide rails can be mounted on almost all standard constructions. They can also be fitted to other profile widths. They can be quickly mounted by applying and screwing them to previously installed threaded rods. Cabinet assembly is also easy. The fully prefabricated cabinets, including frame screen, are simply applied and screwed to the top of the guide rails.
For the exterior blinds, the proven design was retained with the slim guide rails, mounted on holders, and cable guidance. These solutions hardly stand out and allow discreet façade design with optimal light control. The highlight of the new exterior blind design: newly developed supports now allow a minimum distance between the blinds and the facade of only 25 mm. This significantly improves the appearance of the facade. The new support also offers a decisive advantage during installation: the fully pre-assembled covers are simply hooked into a groove in the support from above, aligned laterally and then fastened left and right with one screw each.
The fundamentally revised design and the high degree of prefabrication of the new curtain wall awning system enable particularly efficient, fast and therefore economical planning and installation of external blinds and frame screens on curtain walls. This applies to both new construction and renovations. Fully prefabricated, connection-ready and dimensionally accurate components not only guarantee fast installation, but also very high functional reliability.
Warema also offers its partners ongoing support during planning and ordering. The integration of the myWarema digital ordering platform into Orgadata's popular Logikal industry software makes workflows efficient and secure. This system interface enables a digital workflow. Curtain wall awning products can be configured, added to quotations and ordered from the familiar software environment. The optimal linking of the two systems reduces manual operations, avoids errors and automates business processes in a sustainable way.
The Warema color world offers for powder coating or anodization almost all common colors of the system manufacturers of curtain wall constructions. Thanks to the optimally matched colors, the reduced distance from the façade and the guide rail of the frame screens integrated into the system, Warema's new curtain wall awnings allow unprecedented integration of the awning system into the façade appearance.
