It sounds strange, because actually the expectation is that everything always gets better, but due to all kinds of circumstances it seems that power outages will play a more important role in the future and will occur more often than before. After all, the power grid is becoming more and more heavily loaded, for example due to the increasing use of air conditioners and electric cars. An aggravating factor is that power grids react sensitively to fluctuations. A thunderstorm or a storm, for example, can already cause minor power outages.
This can be very annoying, not least for the awning. Suppose the electrically powered patio awning is unfolded and a thunderstorm breaks out, causing a power failure. Then it is particularly convenient if an awning with an electric drive can also be operated manually. After all, it then remains possible to react to storms or rain, which can prevent damage to an unfolded patio awning.
Therefore, Becker has developed the new drives E33 (with electronic limit switching) and C33 (with integrated radio receiver for remote control). They are equipped with an additional emergency control with an easy-to-handle crank and can therefore be used to close an awning even in the event of a power failure to prevent damage. Becker has designed these drives for both private and business users, such as the hospitality industry. In developing them, the company says it paid particular attention to easy operation.
Compared to previous awning drives that can be operated manually in case of emergency, Becker has significantly optimized the gear ratio. This means that the new drives can therefore be closed faster.
Becker Antriebe regards ease of use as an important consideration in the development of its products. This naturally also applies to the E33 and C33 motors. Closing the blinds in an emergency is now absolutely effortless: according to Becker, no other electronic drive can be moved so easily by hand. An additional advantage is that the two drives automatically recover their end positions after being operated manually in an emergency. Reprogramming by the sun protection specialist is thus not necessary.
Becker has equipped the new E33 and C33 motors with some important, optionally activatable functions. For example, they have a convenient fabric tensioning function to help ensure that an end user can enjoy his awning fabric as long as possible. Especially with conservatory awnings, it is important to tighten the awning fabric for a while after reaching the lower final position, they know at Becker. The E33 and the C33 pull the fabric back slightly so that it does not sag, which can cause it to wave.
To provide additional protection for the fabric of an awning, the E33 and C33 drives have an optional fabric relief. The awning then briefly moves in the opposite direction after being fully rolled in, so that it is not rolled up too tightly and excessive tension on the fabric is removed. In addition, the stopping behavior of both drives can be switched between "soft," which is usually required for open articulated awnings, and "hard," for cassette awnings, to ensure that the cassette is always securely closed to protect the rolled-up screen fabric from weather.
