From all corners of Europe, hundreds of interested parties traveled to Ludwiglust in Germany on September 28 to congratulate the management and employees of sun protection manufacturer Lewens Markisen on its 25th anniversary. From end customers to dealers and specialist retailers, even the international press was present. During the festive - and incidentally very summery! - day, the appreciation for the jubilee German company was great. Actually, that is no wonder. A quarter of a century of innovation and inspiration proves Lewens Markisen's right to exist. The current position therefore promises much for the future and the company has also built up a strong position in the Netherlands in the meantime.
Naturally, the organization of the anniversary celebration had taken its chance to show all visitors and guests everything Lewens stands for and how work is done within the company. Educational tours of all halls were scheduled, allowing visitors to see all stages of the impressive production processes up close. The guests from the Netherlands also received additional information in each hall from an enthusiastic Marc Smeets, export manager for Northwest and Southern Europe.
From the fabric department and central warehouse to the hall where the glass roofs are assembled, everything was on display. By the way, the glass roofs are fully assembled before delivery to ensure 100% that all parts fit and the roof is complete. Then they are disassembled again and made ready for shipment. According to Marc Smeets, this working method is proof that in Ludwigslust, delivering quality is of paramount importance and nothing is left to chance.
The same goes for the hall where the powder coating is applied. There, too, high quality standards are the standard. Impressive are the quality checks. Before the products leave the hall, on their way to the trade and then the end user, everything is checked and tested. Also striking is the efficiency with which work is carried out in the central packing department. A lot of focus there as well because the transports really go in all directions, throughout Europe.
Many of the visitors were also impressed by the size of the company premises. Of course everyone knew that the company is big, but to see it in real life was experienced by many as special. As one of the guests jokingly remarked at the end of one of the tours, "Actually, in all these years a complete 'Lewens village' has been created in the municipality of Ludwigslust!"
Naturally, the employees of Lewens Markisen were all there too, and wherever visitors went during the tours, the employees all enjoyed and honored the conversation. All questions could be asked and were answered with passion and knowledge.
Besides the tours and presentations, there were also things like food and drinks and live music. So the guests did not have to be bored! Also nice were the nicely decorated stands of some Lewens suppliers, who were also able to tell their story during the anniversary party! In short, a wonderful day where Lewens Markisen had paid a lot of attention to every detail.
