The Duck awning from Gibus is a perfect synthesis of aesthetics and design efficiency and adds style, durability and comfort to the external vertical surfaces of residential buildings and structures.

This is the result of the collaboration between the R&D division of the company from Padua - global leader in the Outdoor Design sector - and theindustrial design studio Meneghello Paolelli, united in a synergistic collaboration aimed at identifying the best combination of technology, functionality and beauty. First and foremost, Duck demonstrates a distinctive identity, thanks to an innovative and contemporary design which expresses its personality through a play of soft and extremely pleasing shapes. A solution capable of enhancing a wide variety of architectural contexts. This Gibus proposal is characterized by a compact round cassette, hermetically sealed, in extruded powder-coated aluminum. An original interpretation of the three elements that make up the model of the articulated awning, viz. wall support, cassette and front frame, Duck presents cassette and support as a single element, with respect to which the frame - which resembles the beak of a duck, a detail also evident in the name chosen for the product - represents a technical/formal completion of the whole.

Inside, the cassette houses the canvas of the screen coiled - when Duck is closed - around a steel tube protecting it from the action of weather, to provide a longer ensure durability of the product; in this position, the front closes perfectly on the cassette and offers a high-quality, minimal and sleek aesthetic impact. The tendency of the screen is by special design adjustable between the 0 and 90 degrees making this particular screen even more versatile.

To thermal and luminous comfort to provide, the cloth - in polyester, available in many colors and designs, as well as customizable, if desired, with inscriptions and decorations - is stretched horizontally by mechanical arms equipped with steel springs that allow the underlying surface to resist sun and heat is protected. The innovation also continues with the tubular motors, as Gibus also supplies the Duck with a Somfy I.O. CSI motor, which means that the engine also has a crank rod control for emergencies.

With attention to every little detail, this Gibus design showcases the reversible hook system, a feature that allows the screen to be installed with either wall mount or ceiling mount.
